Preorders for all formats of Teach the Children to Pray are now open. The paperback and hardcover editions have actually been available for preorder on Amazon and BN.com since last week, but now the Amazon ebook version is also available.
The book is available worldwide. (Amazon US | Amazon UK | Amazon DE)
The hardcover price is 32.99 USD / 32.99 EUR / 26.99 GBP.
The paperback price is 17.99 USD / 17.99 EUR / 14.99 GBP.
The ebook will normally sell for 9.99 USD / 9.99 EUR / 7.99 GBP, but I’m launching it at a discounted price of 2.99 USD / 2.99 EUR / 1.99 GBP. The price will go up at the end of launch week.
Prices for other locations vary by region.
A Note on Amazon’s EU price!
Due to a quirk of distribution, Amazon is currently treating the physical versions of the books as US imports, and as such is marking them up considerably. The prices currently listed on Amazon are not the intended EU sale price of the book. I’m doing what I can to get that corrected. I’m very confident that on launch day the paperback price will be fixed, but I’m not yet certain about the hardcover.
I am looking into a way to make it possible to order the hardcover direct from me, but until then, the best way to get the hardcover if you’re in the EU is to come to my launch party or request it through a local bookseller.
Special launch party discount!
For folks attending the in-person launch event, I’ll be selling the hardcover and paperback at a discounted price of 30 EUR / 15 EUR. (You’ll note that this is exactly the promotional price of the ebook, so you can buy a physical copy and then buy the ebook, and it’s like you got the ebook for free!)
I’m looking into a way to make the same discount available for virtual launch party attendees as well.
How you can support me
Buy the book!
The most obvious way to support the book is to buy it! Wherever you buy the book is good for me. You can ask your local bookshop to order it. You can buy it through BN.com or Amazon.
Whenever you buy the book is good for me. If you’re planning to buy multiple copies, giving me that boost on the launch date would be a great help, but ultimately what matters is that you buy it.
Whichever format you buy is good for me. Buy the book because you want to buy it, in the format you want to buy it in, at the price that feels comfortable for your budget.
However many copies you buy is good for me. Buy one for yourself, or buy several for friends or to donate to a little free library in your neighborhood. Read it on Kindle Unlimited instead of purchasing it. Every bit helps.
Ask your local library or bookshop to order it!
Maybe you’re not in a position to buy the book, or maybe you’ve already bought a copy for yourself, but you want to increase the chances that others read it. One way is to reach out to your library and or local bookshop and request that they order a copy for their shelves. This costs nothing to you, but makes the book available to others. The book is being distributed through IngramSpark’s distribution platform, which means most major booksellers and libraries (especially in the U.S., but in the U.K. and globally) should be able to order a copy.
Review it!
Reviews on Amazon, especially from verified purchasers, help other users find the book, and more eyes on the book’s listing means more chances for someone to buy it. Even if you didn’t purchase through Amazon, reviewing the book there and on Goodreads or your book reviewing platform of choice helps others discover it.
Tell people about it (no social media required)!
You know what makes me very likely to buy something I hadn’t heard of before? If a friend of mine approaches me directly and says, “Hey, have you ever read this book? I think you might like it.”
So the thing you can do, right now, at no personal cost, is think of a couple people you think might enjoy this book and tell them about it. Directly. Invite them to wishlist it, preorder it, or add it to their Want to Read list on Goodreads. (Bonus points if one of those people happens to be Reese Witherspoon or another celebrity book club curator ;) )
Of course if you have a social media platform, anything you can do to amplify the book is appreciated. But even if you can’t stand social media, a personal invitation goes a long way.
Follow @rharwick_writer on instagram
Okay, yes, social media is still a thing. Sharing this blog with others and engaging with my posts about the book on instagram increases the likelihood that someone else will see those posts or discover this newsletter which in turn increases the chances that they hear about the book.
So if you’ve already been following me there and liking my posts, thank you. If you are on social media, this is a free and easy way to show your support. If you aren’t on social media, good for you and please don’t feel pressure to join on my account.
Just pre-ordered the Kindle edition from Amazon.ca.
